A suite of tools which allows the users to build Ethereum-based apps has been released by Microsoft on Azure according to Chris Pietschmann, the founder of BuildAzure.com and Microsoft MVP (most valued professional) in a blog post on Monday.
Now, developers can deploy and create apps on the Ethereum blockchain or Azure Blockchain Service by using the latest Azure Blockchain Development Kit for Ethereum, added Pietschmann.
Moreover, developers will be able to deploy and create Ethereum smart contracts. Along with that, they will be allowed to utilize Solidity and Truffle (open-source blockchain tools). The said development kit has been added as an extension to Visual Studio Code (Microsoft’s source-code editor).
Windows 10 and macOS both can support the extension, along with that it can also run within a Virtual Machine in Azure. Explaining about the kit on its GitHub page, Microsoft maintained that the said service can interact with Solidity contracts and is a managed Ethereum service. Moreover, it can be integrated into existing Azure-based services such as Logic Apps, SQL Server, Azure Flow or Cosmos DB.
Pietschmann noted that although others have already published blockchain technology extensions for Visual Studio Code, now we have “an official set of tools published by Microsoft”.
Recently, a token-building kit was launched by Microsoft, in collaboration with Enterprise Ethereum Alliance, to help companies build and design cryptocurrencies according to their particular requirements. Moreover, the company decided to promote JPMorgan Chase’s Quorum blockchain through Azure platform to its business customers.
