Global Campaign Aims To Push Credit Card Companies To Drop Porn Sites, Which Will Increase Crypto Adoption

  • Major credit card companies are considering dropping porn sites

A coalition of international campaign groups has sent a petition to 10 major credit card companies to ban the porn industry from using credit card services. These groups claim that porn is illegal and immoral, since it leads to sexual violence, incest, racism, and it is impossible to verify if people in the videos consented to be filmed or are underage. Further, it is claimed that porn sites lead to sex trafficking and child abuse.

Master Card, one of the biggest credit card companies in the world, is taking these claims seriously, and is considering banning not only all porn sites, but also anyone who used their credit card for porn.

Ultimately, if this campaign succeeds, porn sites will likely have to resort to cryptocurrency to maintain their revenue streams, since if credit card companies ban porn then cryptocurrency would literally be the only digital payment system left for the porn industry. Therefore, it is likely that crypto adoption will increase significantly due to this.
