- John McAfee’s latest publicity stunt repeats his claim that he knows fairly certainly who Satoshi Nakamoto is
John McAfee, Bitcoin early adapter and eccentric billionaire has once again come out with a new extraordinary claim that he is almost sure about the identity of the cryptocurrency’s original creator who is generally known by the alias of Satoshi Nakamoto. The identity of Satoshi Nakamoto is a big mystery of the cryptocurrency sector and hasn’t been solved to date.
McAfee, known for his outspoken and sometimes outlandish claims regarding Bitcoin’s price and other future prospects believes that there is a common sense answer to Satoshi’s identity conundrum. In a recent interview he claims that the truth can easily be observed from the original Bitcoin paper. He claims that Satoshi is not an individual at all and that is “nonsense”. According to him, there was a team of over 11 people who came up with the idea and possibly one individual is credited with the writing of the white paper but he didn’t come up with the idea on his own according to McAfee. He also named a few original pioneers who could possibly be involved in the original team.
He continued by asking the audience to read the actual whitepaper and see for themselves. According to him, it is pretty clear that the writer is English and not any other nationality. He also continued and said that his professional publications and style matches perfectly with the actual whitepaper itself. According to him, he knows who the creator is and even decided to reveal him to the public, but backed off after a phone call with the creator himself who raised serious concerns regarding his safety and future.
While McAfee is known to produce outlandish claims that are often for publicity, it is up to cryptocurrency enthusiasts to decide whether or not his claims are accurate.
