- Presidential candidate Adam Kokesh is proposing AmeriCoin, a crypto that would provide Americans with universal basic income
Libertarian Presidential Candidate Adam Kokesh has appointed Alastair Caithness as his Chief Blockchain Policy Adviser, with the intention of launching a sovereign cryptocurrency for the United States called AmeriCoin.
It would be pegged to the value of all of the federal government’s assets, and American citizens would receive their fair share of the tokens, at which point they would be paid a universal basic income due to the increase in value of the federal government’s assets over time. Further, Americans would be compensated for various government taxing and policing policies, which have taken a heavy toll on most of the country.
Overall, the point of AmeriCoin is to give Americans a fair share of the tremendous wealth that the government has, in order to restore the American Dream.
All of that being said, a Libertarian presidential candidate has never been elected, and there is no chance a Libertarian candidate ever will be elected, so AmeriCoin is just a fantasy for now.
