Bitmain, the biggest Bitcoin mining rig manufacturer in the world, has released a new series of mining rigs called the Antminer S19, and it appears the Antminer S19 will make all previous mining rigs obsolete.
The Antminer S19 comes in two variants which have hash rates of 90 TH/s and 95 TH/s, and the Antminer S19 Pro comes in two versions as well with hash rates of 105 TH/s and 110 TH/s. This is far more powerful than the Antminer S17, which has a hash rate of 55 TH/s.
Further, the Antminer S19 has far greater energy efficiency than previous Antminer models, and energy efficiency translates to bigger profits in the mining world.
Since the block halving is coming in May, an energy efficient mining rig like the Antminer S19 will be in high demand. Also, in general mining farms need the most cutting edge rigs to survive. Therefore, it is likely that there will be a mad scramble across the Bitcoin mining space to obtain the Antminer S19.
