How Strategy’s Daily Dividend Plan Will Work

Strategy, the largest publicly traded corporate holder of bitcoin, has received shareholder approval to introduce daily dividends for four of its preferred stocks.

The proposal covers STRF, STRC, STRK and STRD. Preliminary results showed that 99.3% of votes cast were in favor, according to Executive Chairman Michael Saylor.

The vote took place at a special shareholder meeting on October 28, 2026. Strategy also disclosed the results in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Under the new plan, dividends will accrue every calendar day, including weekends and holidays. However, investors will not necessarily receive a separate payment each day, as payments will follow business-day and stock market settlement rules.

The changes still depend on Strategy completing the required regulatory filings and making the amended terms effective.

Strategy plans to introduce daily dividends in two stages.

STRC, also known as Stretch, is expected to move to the new system first. Its first daily dividend record date is November 1, 2026, with the first payment scheduled for November 2.

The other three preferred stocks will follow in January 2027. STRF (Strife), STRK (Strike) and STRD (Stride) are expected to begin daily dividend accrual on January 1, with their first payments scheduled for January 4.

These dates are subject to the completion of the required filings and operational preparations.

Strategy first proposed the change in September. The company said the new system could help investors receive their dividend income sooner and make its preferred stocks more attractive.

The company said the change “would reduce reinvestment lag, enhance liquidity and market efficiency, and increase price stability.”

In simple terms, Strategy wants to make its preferred stocks easier to trade and their dividend payments easier for investors to manage. The new system changes how frequently dividends accrue, not the annual dividend rates.

STRF and STRD carry annual dividend rates of 10%, while STRK pays 8%. STRC has a variable dividend rate that Strategy can adjust under its existing terms. Its rate was reported at 12% in October.

STRC already moved to twice-monthly dividend payments in June. The latest change would take it a step further by introducing daily dividend record dates.

Strategy has said the changes will not increase or decrease the total regular dividend obligations under the existing rates.

For investors, more frequent payments could mean receiving cash sooner and having more opportunities to reinvest it. However, daily dividend accrual does not guarantee a daily return, and dividends remain subject to each security's terms and applicable declaration requirements.

Investors should also remember that preferred stocks are different from ordinary shares. Their prices can rise or fall, and the stated dividend rate does not guarantee that an investor will make a profit.

Although dividends will accrue every calendar day, stock market and settlement rules can combine several dividends into one payment.

Strategy explained this process in its SEC filing. For shares cleared through the Depository Trust Company (DTC), a record date that falls on a weekend or DTC holiday will generally be treated as the preceding day when the clearing system is open.

Nasdaq's ex-dividend date rules also affect which investors qualify for a dividend.

For example, Strategy described three dividend record dates falling on Friday, November 6, Saturday, November 7, and Sunday, November 8, 2026.

Under the stated rules, all three dividends would be treated as having a Friday, November 6, record date and ex-dividend date. The payments would then be made together on Monday, November 9.

Because stock trades generally settle on the next business day, an investor buying the shares on November 6 would not qualify for those three dividends. Someone selling on that day would still receive them.

The rules may differ for shares traded on other platforms or handled through different clearing arrangements. Strategy advises investors to check with their brokers to understand how the changes affect them.

Strategy uses stock offerings and other financing tools to raise money for its bitcoin treasury. Its preferred stocks provide another way to attract investors without issuing only ordinary shares.

The company hopes that more frequent dividends will make these securities more appealing, helping it raise capital to support its bitcoin strategy.

The latest approval comes as Strategy manages its bitcoin holdings alongside its preferred stock obligations.

As of October 25, 2026, the company held 848,517 BTC, acquired for approximately $64.02 billion at an average price of $75,446 per bitcoin.

Strategy reported no bitcoin purchases or sales during the week ended October 25. Instead, it spent approximately $204.9 million repurchasing STRC preferred stock.

These moves show that the company is managing its financing and bitcoin holdings at the same time.
