Bitcoin enthusiasts are known for their creative ways to educate the world about the potential of their favorite money. An unknown person in the community recently lit up the European Central Bank (ECB) tower in Frankfurt, Germany, with the image of the Bitcoin logo and the message “Study Bitcoin.”
Photos of the guerilla activism were spread on social media and went across the globe quickly. Even though no one has been officially named as the person or group behind the act, a Twitter user named Bitman has been promoting the campaign on the social media site. Given that he used the hashtag “gesundesgeld,” which can be translated to “healthy money,” it seems that the bitcoin logo projection is a targeted acceptance and awareness effort. He stated:
“Bitcoin meet up and promotion ends with a little party. Thanks to all the plebs who have supported us on site and traveled several hundred kilometers.”
Notably, this is not the first time someone has used a projector in Europe to draw attention to bitcoin. On January 21, a Twitter user named Tilo Neumann allegedly illuminated the Bitcoin logo on the iconic Fernsehturm tower in Berlin, which is a major tourist attraction and city symbol. Similar activism took place in the UK when an artist projected “Bitcoin fixes this” on the building of the Bank of England.
Interestingly, the latest awareness campaign coincides with a time when BTC is rallying and hovering around $29,000.
