The court case around Craig Wright is heating up as Peter McCormack and Hodlnaut have to face Craig Wright in court. According to reporters, Wright is losing the case.
My trail has just finished, we now await for judgement, which could be a few weeks.

There is a lot I could say but I’ll keep it to the basics. Firstly I have a lot of people to thank, though mostly I won’t name.

I have an anonymous contact in attendance, who has promised to take notes and pass them onto me.
I will report on the case at the end of each day, using these notes.
Aim is to avoid taking sides.
In the book Hitch-Hikers Guide To The Galaxy, Douglas Adams put forward the notion that given enough time, and enough typewriters, 1000 monkeys could eventaully come up with the works of Shakespeare.
I had always imagined Satoshi Nakamoto to be someone of great integrity, wide vision and a deep understanding of how the real world works. This notion is quite likely true. Without those virtues it would be hard to come up with a solution to the problems of money that we’re experiencing. However, there is a remote possiblity that somehow a pompous guy with very little beyond an above average business acumen was actaully responsible for it.
Socal media influencer Magnus Granath (Hodlonaut) has been ordered to pay Craig Wright an interim payment of £93,000 (plus VAT, yes they even tax court awards!).Wright, who claims to be Satoshi Nakamoto but refuses to prove it, accused Granath of defaming him in a tweet. Granath has since been forced to pay out £303,000 so far.
All the court stuff can be found easily enough on the internet, and like most court stuff its mostly boring. What’s totally amazing, though, is that Craig Wright seems to have managed to establish in court that he is Nakomoto without ever having to prove it. He has even successfully sued people for copyright over the bitcoin white paper.
When asked why he did not simply move some of his supposed coin holdings to prove that he was in fact Satoshi, he said “Because that’s not a way of proving it”. If he did move some coins, then of course that would prove that he had the keys, which is why people are challenging him. We also know that signing a message is an accepted way of proving your ownership. He refuses. Yet somehow he has managed to assert copyright. How can this happen?
Their Law
People who are on the side of the “establishment” almost always get their way when in court against people who are not on the side of the establishment. Craig Wright sees bitcoin as merely digital money. None of the other aspects of bitcoin that make it attractive to people who value freedom even exist, according to Wright.
He might be the inventor of bitcoin, we have no way of knowing until someone proves it is him, or it’s someone else. All we can do is look at the evidence. Here’s a guy who really doesn’t give a shit about freedom. A guy who clearly wants to help create central bank digital currences and has no time for such notions as freedom and decentralization. Yet he claims to have invented a whole money system that can help us to acheive those goals and free ourselves from the current tyrranical institutions, the same ones he is talking about helping to make new currencies.
It’s strange, to say the least. Strange too is the growing number of people who “believe” him. For someone who has created another currency, BSV, it could be seen as a huge market advantage to have people believe you are Satoshi Nakomoto. So, until Craig Write does something to prove he is Satoshi, as far as I am concerned he is just another bully trying to assert himself in the yard by pickiing on unfortunate individuals and giving them a public beating to ensure that the rest accept his unproven claims.
If you care about freedom, please support people like Hodlonaut. We’re all affected by what happens with these court cases because our vision of freedom to transact with each other without the oversight of pompous people in “authority” depends on our ability to resist their intrusions. Wright has made it clear which side he is on. The fact that the true identity of Nakamoto is still unknown shows that it doesn’t really matter at all and only fools care about it.
