European Bitcoiners and their kin from around the world will gather in Switzerland, home to masterfully crafted watches and historic banks, for the 2022 edition of the Bitcoin Zitadelle conference in coming days.
The event will run from today August 11th to the 14th of August with nonstop action all the way until Sunday.
The venue is Bio Swand, an agricultural hotel which has been the former agricultural school of the canton Bern.
Covering a wide array of topics including; “Decentralisation vs Centralization” (non-custodial vs custodial), “Regulation, blessing or curse for Bitcoin?”, “The battle for the world currency – what role does Bitcoin play?” the event is a hotspot for bitcoin enthusiasts.
After last year’s initiation event took place in a Castle in Germany, the organizers moved on to Switzerland.
The list of guest speakers will include Roman Reher his partner Debbi, Lina Seiche, The Bitcoin Librarian, Lightning scientist Rene Pickhardt, Stadicus of ShiftCrypto and many more.
Media coverage will have Pleb’s Tavern, Einundzwanzig, Nodesignal podcast and various others on the menu. Sponsored by Pocket Bitcoin, Lipa and BitBox (all Swiss bitcoin startups) the Zitadelle runs the show like a clockwork.
Fans on Twitter can’t wait to spend sats on the beertap. Or to open bottles of Zitadelle’s own beer brand: “White Rabbit”.
For example, I hope you’ll be intrigued to know that ‘LNPos’ is Lightning Network Proof-of-stake. But it has absolutely nothing to do with alt-coins like Ethereum.
The ticket price includes full board with breakfast, lunch and dinner. A vegan / gluten-free / lactose-free alternative is available for each meal. Beer, drinks and snacks can be purchased from the bar at your own expense. Payment is made via Lightning, of course.
