This annual event, held during the Bitcoin Takeover at SXSW, is a dynamic competition where emerging Bitcoin startups showcase their groundbreaking projects. The event culminates in a live pitch competition that highlights the innovative spirit of Bitcoin builders worldwide.

What is Top Builder?
Top Builder is a three-month competition that invites teams from around the globe to tackle real-world challenges and create impactful Bitcoin solutions.
This program emphasizes mentorship, community collaboration, and technical innovation, offering participants a unique opportunity to gain exposure and showcase their work.
Key Details
- What: A Bitcoin-focused hackathon and pitch competition featuring workshops, mentorship, and a $15,000 bitcoin prize.
- When: January 6, 2025, to March 13, 2025, with applications closing on January 13, 2025.
- Where: Participants can join remotely or in person at PlebLab in Austin, TX. Finalists will pitch their projects live during Startup Day on March 13, 2025, at Bitcoin Commons.

Event Format
- Round 1 (January 6 – February 8): Teams are mentored and judged on initial milestones.
- Round 2 (February 9 – 22): Half the teams continue, refining their projects.
- Final Round (Starting February 23): The top 5 teams are selected to pitch live at Startup Day in Austin.
