Instant payments have been available for banks in Switzerland since August 2024.
Unlike before, thanks to the new format, transfers will not take several working days but can be executed within minutes. In September 2024, the following banks have already integrated instant payments:
- UBS
- Raiffeisen
- Berner Kantonalbank
- St. Galler Kantonalbank
- Hypothekarbank Lenzburg
This makes us one of the first Bitcoin providers in Switzerland to introduce the new payment format.
This has become possible thanks to the partnership with Swissquote, a market leader in adopting new financial technologies. This partnership enables Relai users to buy bitcoin even more quickly and easily.
Our CEO Julian Liniger sees this as a unique opportunity, stating:

He highlighted that this initiative enables users to quickly receive bitcoin directly into their own wallet, simplifying the buying process and significantly contributing to more people discovering Bitcoin or starting to save in it.
The introduction of instant payments is essential to the product improvement and strengthening of Relai in the Swiss market. Further marketing measures and adjustments to the app are planned in parallel to this launch.
