Hardware wallet provider Trezor celebrated its 10th anniversary on October 12 with the announcement of three new self-custody products: the Trezor Safe 3 wallet, the Trezor Keep Metal backup solution, and a limited-edition Bitcoin-only wallet.
The Trezor Safe 3
According to the official reveal on October 12, Trezor Safe 3 will support almost 8,000 different types of digital assets and will be available in four colors, including ‘Solar Gold,’ ‘Stellar Silver,’ ‘Cosmic Black,’ and ‘Galactic Rose.’ The new wallet has been priced at $79 and includes a “bright OLED display for clear, easy, and secure hands-on verification.”
The company stated:
“As we kicked off the design phase of our new Trezor Safe 3, our mission was crystal clear: to create a crypto wallet that is intuitively easy to use, affordable for many, and meets the needs of the increasingly diverse crowds entering the crypto space.”
The new wallet has been launched to celebrate the firm’s 10 years of “keeping users’ crypto safe with 100% transparent, independently audited, and trusted code.” The wallet is compatible with the Trezor Suit application, allowing users to “trade, save, and transact.”
10th Anniversary Limited Edition: The Bitcoin-only Trezor
Additionally, they also announced a Bitcoin-only wallet for their users, which comes with a “Bitcoin-only firmware” and is only available in orange color, signifying the Bitcoin symbol’s color. The price of the wallet is $79.
Pavol “Stick” Rusnak, co-founder of Trezor, commented on the limited edition BTC wallet:
“Here’s to all the Bitcoin HODLers, diamond hands, shrimps, crabs, whales, and OGs. In 2013, Slush and I created the world’s first Bitcoin hardware wallet. 10 years later, our drive to democratize Bitcoin security is stronger than ever. As we celebrate this 10-year journey, we’re thrilled to announce the Bitcoin-only Trezor.”
In a video, the company noted that “bitcoin has the potential to empower individuals in underprivileged communities,” which, according to them, frequently lack access to reliable information about it. Therefore, the firm has decided to allocate 21 euros from each sale of the limited edition of this product to support its Bitcoin education initiative in Africa.
The Trezor Keep Metal
Finally, they also unveiled Trezor Keep Metal, a “mistake-proof, convenient backup solution” for digital assets. Made up of stainless steel, the device is fire, water, and impact-resistant. The device comes with a pre-marking pen, which allows users to “eliminate mistakes by marking letters.” The 12-word recovery seed version of the device comes at a cost of $99, while the 20-word Shamir backup version comes at $249.
According to them:
“With the Trezor Keep Metal, wallet backup becomes a breeze, thanks to its simple four-letter entry system, reducing the risk of misreading your recovery seed.”
