On September 30, Former nChain Group CEO Ager-Hanssen announced his departure from the company on X (former Twitter). He stated that he no longer believes that nChain’s chief scientist Craig Wright is the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto.
Christen Ager-Hanssen left the company, while announcing the uncovering of a “conspiracy to defraud nChain shareholders led by a significant shareholder.”
He also posted the screenshot of a report that appears to provide evidence from Wright’s browsing history, contradicting his long-standing claims of being Satoshi.
He also stated:
“I have also reported that I have found compelling evidence that Dr Craig Wright has manipulated documents with the aim to deceive the court that he is Satoshi. I’m today myself convinced that Dr Craig Wright is NOT Satoshi and I’m persuaded he will lose all his legal battles.”

Ager-Hanssen Submits a Whistleblower Report
Ager-Hanssen has also claimed that he submitted a whistleblower report to the nChain board alongside five others. Subsequently, all six individuals faced dismissal or suspension from their respective roles. The former nChain CEO plans to release this report, which centers on the influence wielded by billionaire Calvin Ayre, described by Ager-Hanssen as a “shadow director/dictator,” over nChain’s operations.
In response, nChain’s board issued a statement citing concerns about the recent management of the company, stating that it lead them to open a thorough and impartial investigation. They further noted that prior to the board’s actions based on the investigation’s findings, Ager-Hanssen exhibited “serious and inappropriate” behavior, leading to his dismissal. The announcement reads:
“Prior to the Board acting on the investigation’s conclusions, on September 27 Mr. Ager Hanssen conducted himself in a serious and inappropriate manner which prompted the decision to dismiss Mr. Ager-Hanssen with immediate effect.”
Regarding Craig’s alleged document manipulation, nChain clarified that it had greenlit an independent external review to scrutinize Ager-Hanssen’s evidence against Wright.
It is worth noting that Craig Wright, a renowned personality in the Bitcoin world, claims that he is Satoshi Nakamoto, founder of Bitcoin. He has also released a digital asset called “Bitcoin Satoshi’s Vision” (BSV), which he claims is the original bitcoin.
Bitcoin Community Reacts
Ager-Hanssen’s revelation stirred a notable response within the Bitcoin community. Many, including figures like Ray Youssef and Rahul Sood, voiced their support for his decision to share this information.
Meanwhile, some questioned his prior support for Wright and what prompted the change in his viewpoint. Ager-Hanssen admitted that he had been misled into believing that Wright was a part of the group responsible for Bitcoin’s creation.
